Ammie Ericsson

Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden; now residing in Fort Lauderdale, new to competitive dancing but with many years’ competitive experience in motorsport, on and off track, in Sweden and Europe.

In the fall of 2010, I met my current Pro-Am partner, Sasha Givency, We work very well together, and in December we decided to compete in International 10-dance. After just three months of intense practice, we competed in the San Francisco Open, at the bronze and silver levels in an international contest with hundreds of entries! Our performance far exceeded my expectations! I placed in the Top 20 for students, across all categories, and we won the Best-of-the-Best, which means that this fall we will represent San Francisco at the World Pro-Am competition at Ohio Star Ball, America’s most prestigious dance competition!

Sasha Givency

Originally from Moscow, Russia; now residing in Miami, Florida, Sasha started dancing as a child and at age 6, he became the youngest ever to reach the adult finals of the Russian Ballroom Dancing Championships with his professional partner. Together they had amazing success, including winning bronze and silver medals in the International Standard at the Russian Ballroom Dancing Championships, and as the first Russian pair ever, they won a bronze medal in the Standard at the Euro Cup Championship. Sasha and Olga also trained in London and for many years they were one of the very best Russian pairs, the only sponsored by the Russian Government and awarded the "Key to the City" by their home town for exceptional sports achievements. After moving to the U.S., they won almost every competition they entered.

Sasha also has both national and international experience as a judge. His students have become Junior Russian Champion, Junior World Champion and in the U.S., several have become Top Silver Students and won Best-of-the-Best Awards.

In Russia, Sasha was among leading organizers of dance competitions. For example, he were awarded to organize the Russian National Championships several times, repeatedly named as the "Competition of the Year."

The 2014 season – upcoming competitions

We are already practicing at full speed for the prestigious Nevada Star Ball dance competition in Las Vegas in August, and the Ohio Star Ball in November, which we very much look forward to! In 2015, we hope to compete at about 20 competitions across the U.S., and in Russia, Italy, Hong Kong and perhaps Sweden. Where we will compete will depend on the wishes of our sponsors, we are flexible!
